Local musician and novelist Marty Nevers (Martin Michael Neveroski) died June 25th 2012 in Mesa, Arizona. Marty was born in Michigan City, Indiana on November 15th 1923 and moved to Minneapolis in the 50s. Marty became part of the very popular comedy team called Frazer and Nevers. They performed throughout the 50s and 60s at Mr. Nibs and Tempo Bar. In 1969 Marty joined with Carla Elliott and continued to give shows in the Twin Cities in the summer and Mesa Arizona in the winter right up to his passing. During a long career, he wrote and recorded over 40 songs available on 3 CDs. He loved to make people laugh and his music was inspiring. He also published a novel that takes place in Michigan City, Mystery of Ma’s Ugly Pickle (ISBN_9780983750611). He is survived by his wife Carla Elliott, daughters Dawn and Dianne and son Daniel. Carla will carry on his music.
